THE RENOVATION!!!

After much procrastination and alienation of my blog, I've decided to start over!! A total revamp. Add some joie de vivre (I don't even care if that's spelled correctly at the moment. lol)

I've been side-tracked far to long and this blog deserves to be treated to much better. So, be on the lookout all, Viva La Brown Beauty will prevail!!!

Until the rebirth...

Ice Cream Paint Job

I like to get my nails done, but a lot of times I don't feel like wasting the time or money to get it done every two weeks, and I figure I'm creative enough that I can pull of some designs of my own that will get a little attention.

The inspiration for this design comes from the Winter Blues I've been suffering from being that my school is in the middle of the snow belt in PA. I figured this little striped spring themed design would help lift my mood until the weather breaks.

Here's the goods:

I removed all previous polish beforehand, and soaked my feet in warm/hot water with a little bit of shower gel in it to get them soft. I used a rough pumice stone (from the Essence of Beauty Pedicure Kit at CVS) and got all the dead skin off the bottom of my feet.

I clipped my nails and cuticles, filed them and buffed them smooth; the goods compromise of an assortment of pastel Kiss brand nail art paints (I bought these from a hair store in Erie for $2 each), OPI's Shorts Story (the most amazing Barbie Pink I've ever seen, though the flash lightens it up a bit in the pic), and a salon style extra glossy top coat/ nail hardener (bought at Sally's Beauty Supply. I forgot the price.).

You want to start by painting horizontal stripes on your big toe nail only, starting from one side all the way to the next (The flash makes it hard to see the thrid color, which is lavender).

If you mess up a stripe, like I did with the yellow, take a q-tip and pull off the extra cotton on it and dip it in remover and slide it along the stripe to thin it out.

Continue the process until you have something like this, making sure to leave a little space in between each line

Here's both big toes

The next thing you want to do is take a glittery nail stripe color (I used gold) and apply it where the spaces are between your lines. After that, I painted the rest of my toes in Shorts Story (two coats).

This is the end result. Voila! Candy Coated toes.

I think it took me about 35 mintues to complete both feet altogether. I did my nails the same way a day or two later.

I only did the design on my left hand on the pointer and middle finger; one finger with vertical stripes, the other with vertical stripes. All my other nails were in Shorts Story.

More up close pics of the nails seperately.

Hope all you prettiful ladies liked it! :o)

Until we meet again.

HOLA!!

So, I decided that the time has come where I HAVE to do something with this blog. I am a grade-A certified procratinator, and my greatest motivator. The motivational side of me told the other to get her shit together and get this thing rollin.

Let's run down the basics quickly. Yes?

I'm a makeup fanatic. I love all kinds. When I'm around cosmetics my body quivers like I seen Trey Songz in front of me naked. I'm also an equal opprotunity employer-- meaning-- I'm not just gonna do tutorials and reviews on the elite of projects, nor am I just gonna review pharmacy brand either. I like what I like, I do what I do with the things that I like, and I'ma keep it that way. (Cause I'm def fresh like that.)

So, as long as you're prepared to enter my world and my love of all things beautiful, I can see the start of something special between you and I! LOL
